Since opening its doors in 1877, Colusa Medical Center has been a trusted source of healthcare for the residents of Colusa County and neighboring communities. What began as a small rural hospital has grown into a comprehensive healthcare system, but our commitment to compassionate, community-focused care has never changed.

Humble Beginnings

Established to meet the healthcare needs of a growing agricultural community, Colusa Medical Center was founded on the belief that quality healthcare should be available close to home. Throughout the decades, generations of physicians, nurses, employees, volunteers, and community leaders have worked together to build a hospital dedicated to serving local families with compassion and excellence.

Growing With Our Community

As the needs of our community evolved, so did Colusa Medical Center. The hospital expanded its facilities, enhanced medical technology, and broadened the services available to patients. The addition of Rural Health Clinics, rehabilitation services, Home Health, specialty care, and advanced diagnostic capabilities has allowed more patients to receive exceptional healthcare without leaving the communities they call home.

Building a Strong Future

Like many rural hospitals across the nation, Colusa Medical Center has faced significant challenges as healthcare continues to evolve. During a pivotal chapter in our history, American Advanced Management began providing operational guidance and strategic support to help strengthen hospital operations and preserve access to local healthcare. Working alongside physicians, employees, community leaders, and the Board of Directors, this partnership has focused on improving patient care, expanding services, supporting healthcare professionals, investing in modern technology, and building a strong, sustainable future for rural healthcare.

Serving Beyond Our Walls

Our commitment to the community extends far beyond the hospital campus. During the 2018 Camp Fire, Colusa Medical Center expanded hospital operations to help care for displaced patients and support neighboring communities during one of California’s most devastating disasters. Throughout our history, we have continued to answer the call during times of crisis, providing compassionate care when our communities have needed it most.
